This video is just to familiarise yourself,  Jemma will go through it with you at the Saturday audition, before you perform it in small groups. The first 6 counts of 8 is for the chorus members (up to the salute) the rest is advanced, and will be for the dancers.

If you have made it to this page, this means your looking into auditioning for Woodford Pantomime’s January 2025  'Sleeping Beauty’! Fantastic, we love to welcome new talent to the Woodford Panto family!

The committee and team are very excited to get this show started and hope you will be interested in auditioning.


Our production team will consist of:

Auditions will be as follows:

Wednesday 12th June

7pm - 9pm

Bancroft’s Rugby Club

This is the main audition evening for principal roles only.*

Saturday 15th June

Theydon Bois Scout Hut

(Off Loughton Lane)

9:30am-11:00am – Dancers and chorus audition

11:00- 1:00 – Principal auditions for people that cannot make the Wednesday.

*If you are new to the company we would ask that you come on the Saturday and take part in the chorus audition so we can see your dance ability.

What to expect at auditions:

Principal role:

You will have to read part of the script and sing part of a solo song which you can choose from a list produced by our MD which will be shared shortly.

Chorus:

You will have to take part in our dance audition where you will learn a simple routine to show off your dance ability. You will then have to sing part of a solo song.

Dancer:

You will have to take part in our dance audition where you learn a simple routine but also a more advanced part at the end to show off your dance ability. You will then have to sing part of a solo song.

The parts available are:
Aurora - the princess (female role)

Prince Orlando (male or female)

Magnificent – the baddie (male or female)

The Good Fairy (female)

Dumb – comedy duo and baddie's sidekick (male or female)

Dumber – comedy duo and baddie's sidekick (male or female)

Bella – the Princess’ bestie (female)

Tommy – The Dame’s son - the Buttons type character (male)

Nurse – Dame (male)

King (male)

Queen (female)
